Luke & Katy were blessed with outstanding weather for their August wedding. When planning one’s wedding for August, wouldn’t you dream of having mid-70’s with a light breeze out of the west?? ;) Anyway, they were very fortunate to have such great weather. Luke & Katy originally met in college when they were freshmen. After graduation, Katy went off to graduate school in Seattle, so their wedding plans needed to be put on hold until she was done. Well, Katy graduated this past May and now they got married this past weekend! It was a beautiful day with tons of support and love from their family & friends. I had a great time with Luke & Katy and their guests. Hope you two have a great honeymoon weekend!!
Their wedding was held at the beautiful Panola Valley Gardens in Lindstrom.

A funny moment while they were getting the dress on. She opted to not wear the bra, a last-minute decision that alot of brides make on their wedding day surprisingly!

During formal pictures, this little guy wanted to take a dip into the stream. I thought that this moment was just too adorable to pass up!!

After the pictures at the garden, the bridal party took a trolley into downtown Stillwater for pictures. We must have run into 4 or 5 different wedding parties just at the few places we went!

Their reception was held at the Historic Washington County Courthouse in Stillwater. I’ve actually heard alot about this site, so I was glad to be able to shoot here!

Instead of table numbers, they had pictures & descriptions of special places in Luke & Katy’s life.

They hired a barber shop quartet for their cocktail hour and for the beginning of dinner. They were fantastic!

Would you believe me if I told you this was all from the wedding party dance??? These people were ready to party!

I met up with Kevin & his mom at a park I frequent for photo shoots in Eagan. It’s very close to my studio, so it is an obvious choice for outdoor pictures. Kevin is my cousin, so it was a little strange to be shooting his senior pictures. I remember when he was just a little baby!!! He is going to be a senior at Burnsville High School, but isn’t quite sure where he wants to go after he graduates. Kevin wasn’t too thrilled about taking his pictures (like alot of senior boys), however by the end, he definitely seemed to be enjoying it…. even if it was just a little ;) Enjoy!!

We meet up again with my other “Watch Me Grow” client. I love when people decide to do this package, because I get to see these kids really grow up over the course of their first year! She has gotten so big since her appointment at 6 months, crawls everywhere, and is nearly walking. It is also a blast to see how her personality has really come through. Reagan is turning into a little girl! Before we know it, she’ll be ready for preschool.
Let’s savor this moment, though, where she still isn’t walking and enjoying being carried around by mom. Feel free to leave a comment for Reagan and her parents Lindsay & John!

What a beautiful day for Matt & Jonell! They were married & had their reception at the Great Hall in downtown St. Paul. It was a little warm for their formals at Mears Park, however you really can’t complain too much when you can get low 80’s with partly cloudy skies in Minnesota in August. ;) Matt & Jonell were originally introduced by their respective parents and were set-up on a blind date together! As it turns out, they really hit it off. This couple really enjoys eating sushi together, which I believe they had on their first date together. It’s been almost 3 years since that date and now they are happily married. Enjoy the sample of pictures from their wedding and feel free to leave any comments for Matt & Jonell!

I have no idea what exactly he had in his hand, but it was something that he was reading to her, or they were reading together.

She finished part of the dance with her dad and then switched over to her stepand who finished off the dance!

I’m on the last day of my mini-vacation in Duluth, and I’m working.
Last April, I shot Annie’s family pictures at their house. Now, she is graduating next Spring and needs senior pictures taken. We started out at the studio and got some really great shots. Annie is all smiles and loves to have fun. She loves being a part of theater and drama clubs at Eagan High School, so she definitely knows how to ham it up for the camera :) It was such a fun time spending time with her and taking her pictures. I wish her all the best!

Like I said above… she loves to have fun!!

Ok, let me explain this picture. Since their house isn’t too far from my studio, they wanted to go back there and take some more pictures. As we were pulling into their driveway, we noticed this HUGE turtle in the road. We weren’t quite sure of what kind of turtle it was, but Annie’s dad wanted to move the turtle off the road. This first picture is just for a reference to it’s size. Take a look at the second picture for a close-up shot… notice the huge claws!! Well, we sat there looking at it for about 5 minutes trying to figure out what to do with it. We were pretty sure it was a snapper turtle, and you don’t want to mess with that. Annie’s dad wasn’t 100% convinced it was, but if it was, he was going to move it by grabbing it by the back of the shell. He went and tried to pick it up and within seconds, it reared it’s head out and almost seemed to jump up at him to take a bite! It was so sudden I screamed!! So, needless to say, it was a snapper turtle and we left it alone :) Lesson learned!!

Back to Annie’s awesome pictures!
